About Us
Quality, low-cost housing to support your climb onto the property ladder
Acre Quay provides low-cost housing options that are priced lower than comparable houses in the local area. We promise that the rent will not increase during your time as a tenant in one of our properties. The defining difference with Acre Quay is that part of your rental payment is placed, by us, into your lifetime ISA allowing you to save for a deposit on your first house.
If you don't have a lifetime ISA, we can help you set one up. We will contribute the maximum amount each month to allow you to save £4000/ year. The 25% government top up, will then take this up to £5000/ year saved.

Our Story
Recently divorced, on a single person’s salary and with a young child; I discovered the difficulty in securing affordable rental accommodation. Most basic, 2-bedroom rentals, in the area in which I work, were in excess of 2/3 of my monthly wages.
I started to look for alternatives and found good quality, warm and spacious static homes – but they were only available on sites for ‘over 50s’ or on holiday parks which didn’t permit year-round living.
I realised that I am not the only one in this situation; the cost-of-living crisis has compounded this issue with many lower/middle-income families and owning a home has become a distant dream for many people. Those who are able to find a rental property face unpredictable and unaffordable increases in rent each year.
I started to look at options and found nothing exists to support people to rent fairly and save well for a deposit for their first home. This was when I decided to set up Acre Quay whose aim is to provide low-cost housing options that are priced lower than comparable houses in the local area. The defining difference is that part of the rental payment is placed, by us, into a lifetime ISA for the renter allowing them to save for a deposit on their first house.
We will contribute the maximum amount each month to allow them to save £4000/ year. The 25% government top up, will then take this up to £5000/ year saved.
We allow all of our tenants to remain in our accommodation for up to 3 years, meaning they can potentially save £15,000 as a deposit for their first house. We guarantee that during the maximum 3-years tenancy, we will never increase the rent a tenant pays.
