How it works

Acre Quay provides low-cost housing options that are priced lower than comparable houses in the local area. The defining difference with Acre Quay is that part of your rental payment is placed, by us, into your lifetime ISA allowing you to save for a deposit on your first house.

If you don't have a lifetime ISA, we can help you set one up. We will contribute the maximum amount each month to allow you to save £4000/ year. The 25% government top up, will then take this up to £5000/ year saved.

We allow all of our tenants to remain in our accommodation for up to 3 years, meaning you can potentially save £15,000 as a deposit for your first house.

An example based on a rental cost of £1000 a month

£1000/ month rental - £333/ month will be added to your lifetime ISA

At the end of the first year, you will have saved £4000 which will receive the 25% government top up resulting in £5000 of savings.

It is important to note that this scheme is only available to people who have not bought a property before. A lifetime ISA can only be withdrawn, before the age of 60, by people wishing to buy their first property.

Couples are entitled to one lifetime ISA each, potentially meaning up to £2000 government top up each year. Acre Quay can only contribute the share of the rent to one ISA however you may wish to add additional payments to the additional lifetime ISA to benefit from the government top up.
